In the past there has been minimal representation from parents of Cochlear Implant children. This is despite the majority of children with severe to profoundly hearing loss now receiving Cochlear Implants.
As one of the largest users of Deaf Education Centre services it is important that families of children with Cochlear Implants are well represented on the combined board.
Over the next few weeks we will publish profiles of candidates who have a strong Cochlear Implant and spoken language focus. If you are able to vote in the upcoming combined DEC board election, we would strongly encourage you to vote for these candidates.
